Teenagers From Outer Space

In this edition of Endyr's Movie Theater I am featuring the incredibly entertaining 1959 classic "Teenagers From Outer Space".  It is interesting to note that this movie was made for only $14,000, which in itself is quite amazing even for its day.  That makes it an ultra low budget movie.  With that said, "Teenagers From Outer Space" still lost money when it was released theatrically.  The  director Tom Graeff was a very interesting character.  Because the film failed at the box office,  it placed a lot of stress on an already emotionally burdened Graeff, and in the fall of 1959, he suffered a nervous breakdown, proclaiming himself to be the second coming of Christ.  After a number of public appearances followed by a subsequent arrest for disrupting a church service, Graeff disappeared from HollywoodUnfortunately he committed suicide in 1970.  Oh, I forgot to mention, watch out for the Focusing Disintegrator Ray Gun that is used in the movie.  It was a popular toy in the 1950s.  I actually had one of those as a child and I enjoyed disintegrating my annoying kid sister.  Bring out the popcorn, soda, and candy, and let's have a good time watching "Teenagers From Outer Space".  Safe journeys to all the fans of Endyr's Movie Theater, wherever you may be.
